NHO activities in Brussels

Our priorities are primarily determined by NHO's political priorities in Norway, as well as by the European political agenda. The focus areas for the NHO Brussels office are continuously evaluated. However, our main priorities are primarily these four areas: The Single Market, employment, trade policy and energy, climate, and environment.

A crucial part of NHO's responsibilities in Brussels consists of monitoring, reviewing, and providing information on upcoming Commission initiatives and activities to the NHO community. In addition, our team provides and promotes important feedback and opinions during the political and legislative processes in all key EU institutions. As part of this work, NHO closely follows intra-institutional developments both in the Council and in the European Parliament.

Our membership in BusinessEurope forms a central basis for our Brussels-based activities, and offers an important discussion platform, which complements our bilateral cooperation with the European institutions, Norwegian authorities, and other Norwegian actors. At the same time, we work closely with Norwegian politicians, with the aim of both informing and involving them in important processes in Brussels that affect Norwegian business.
